The comical appearance was the beginning of a community-wide campaign to raise awareness of the Paris Climate Summit later this year.
Armidale Road to Paris campaign convenor Richelle Roberts wanted to build on the existing awareness in Armidale.
“We’re contacting community groups of all sorts so that they can respond in ways that reflect their members’ thoughts and opinions about climate change,” Ms Roberts said.
“We want to create a community conversation.”
The campaign was initiated by Sustainable Living Armidale and aims to involve the whole community.
“The Armidale community, both in individual actions and organisational decisions, has shown an awareness of the urgency of tackling climate change, and this needs to be included in what the Australian delegation takes to Paris,” Ms Roberts said.
