PIGS hammed it up at Sandon Primary School's annual fete on Saturday, when "pig whisperer" Kevin Kiley charmed children and parents alike with his thoroughbred pig racing.

The Noah's Thoroughbred Pig Racing owner said the pig wearing purple and sponsored by JR and JG Dezius flew to the finish line faster than any of the other eight pigs in most races, collecting much-needed fund in the sweep.
Sweeps were held for all races and a prize given for each race.
Money raised will be used for playground equipment for the school's special needs children, upgrading the netball court and buying musical instruments.
Our pig races were: Bones Tyres Apple Sauce and Crackling Dash; First National Real Estate Smoked Ham Grand National; Green Plumb Energy and Gas Pickled Pork Plate; Johnson and Kennedy Ham of the Bone Sprint New England Mutual Roast Pork Rumble Roberts and Morrow Accountants Ham it up Cup; Supermoto New England Bacon Bitz Blitz and Edwards Spareribs Gallop.
Sponsors for the individual pigs were: Hillier Transport; TJ Earthmoving Service and Repairs; Wicklow Hotel; New England Hotel; Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall; Telstra andJeff Dezius Building Contractor.
