Hard enough at least that two technicians travelled from the Blue Mountains and Newcastle to benefit from Armidale piano tuner John Hadfield’s knowledge.
Mr Hadfield, right, held a two-day private workshop for Keven Jenkinson, left and Shane Holahan which explained the finer points of piano tuning. There’s just one course offered to aspiring piano tuners in Australia and that costs $30,000 upfront and takes a year to complete.
Mr Hadfield said the weekend workshop was a good opportunity for all three technicians to learn.
“There’s never any one way to do it,” he said.
Mr Hadfield has 1300 pianos in his business’ database, most of which are in Armidale.
