Now the RSPCA is looking for a new home for Tilly after weaning her five kittens.
Tilly used up most of her nine lives after being abandoned and forced to fend for herself in Gunnedah, in 2013.
She had been listed to be returned to a pet shop, however, eventually found her way to Armidale, where she was adopted by RSPCA carers.
They issued an SOS for money to help pay for Tilly’s veterinarian bills, raising $300.
She was found to have injuries to her spine, hips and legs, with fears a leg might have had to be amputated.
But that proved unfounded.
Now an RSPCA spokeswoman is on the look-out for a good home for Tilly.
“We think Tilly would really appreciate the comforts of an indoor lifestyle without having to worry about hunting for food or fending off other cats outside, as she probably had to do for the first year of her life,” she said.
“Thank you to the kind animal lovers who generously donated money."
