The fourth edition of the Cuttin for Cash ran from Thursday right through until Sunday at the Armidale Indoor Arena with $40,000 prize money up for grabs over the weekend.

“It was a great weekend,” organiser Rob McKenna said.

“The weather was great, everything went well.”

More than 300 nominations were received for the weekend.

“All events were well represented,” McKenna said.

“We had a lot of great feedback as well.

“The indoor set up was superb, it’s a credit to Armidale to have something like that in town.”

Wayne Bowman and Dean Holden had to share in the spoils in the open event.

Bowman and Holden both scored 146 in the open event, but they weren’t the best scores of the weekend.

“We had a couple of 150s in other events,” McKenna said.

“They are really high level scores.”

The $3500 novice was won by Glen Innes rider Rob Hodgman, while the $10,000 novice went to Bowman.

Lincoln Verrart took out the open non-pro and the novice non pro went to Angie Innes.

Tara Phillips had an outstanding weekend, winning the $10,000 non-pro and the open 7 up non-pro.

The $5000 non-pro went to Dennis Sims, while the rookie event went to Thomas Smith. The open 7 up went to Kevin Marsden.

An auction was held at the St Kilda Hotel on Saturday evening which raised $10,700, half of which will be donated to the Westpac Rescure Helicopter.
