The following detail is included in Arup's Report.
The shoreline will recede 25 metres from the existing boat ramp and 160m from the northern end.
Extensive rehabitiation of the banks and additional maintenance will be required to the new reservoir perimeter.
The option of decommissioning the dam involves cutting a 25 metre wide notch in the centre of the wall from top to bottom.
This would be hilarious - a permanent monument to the folly of our current councillors. Once either of those options is completed, there is no reversal.
There would also be a significant aesthestic and environmental impact and the need for major rehabilitation works and maintenance of the existing walls.
