Years ago the Dumaresq Local Area Group was told by Council that the state government does not fund the sealing of new roads.
This can only be done is through Roads to Recovery funding.
The group subsequently sent in submissions to have the rest of the Old Inverell and the Dumaresq Dam roads sealed using Roads to Recovery funding and were successful.
Council receives money from other sources to repair sealed roads.
There are many residents living on poor gravel roads who have been battling Council for years to have their roads sealed.
Roads to Recovery money is the only way this can happen.
It would be good if people could see some long term planning for road improvement.
Mr Joyce replied that he had written to Glenn Wilcox asking if consideration could be given to our concerns and points raised by the association in relation to the matter and for his advice.
He will be in touch when he has received a reply.
