Between 9.30pm on Friday and 9.30am on Saturday, a house on Oliver Avenue was entered through a locked window after a thief removed the fly screen.
A desktop computer and a laptop were taken from the house.
Friday saw a second break and enter, with a house on Mayfield Avenue targeted between the hours of 2am and 8am on Friday.
The assailant entered through an unlocked window, taking a mobile phone and a laptop.
The third break-in was at a house on Galloway Street, between 9pm on Saturday and 8.30am Sunday.
A handbag containing personal items and mobile phone was stolen, with police unable to determine how the thief entered the premises.
The fourth incident occurred on Sunday with an attempted break in at a house on O’Dell Street between 8am and 8.05am on Sunday.
A neighbour spotted a person in the yard fiddling with a window, and the would-be thief ran off without removing any property.
Upon returning home, the resident discovered cuts to their fly screen, which had also been removed.
Inspector Chris McKinnon said thefts can be hard to predict, which puts responsibility on residents to consistently keep their properties as secure as possible.
“There’s no real pattern,” Inspector McKinnon said.
“Generally they will come in fits and bursts.”
