On their home turf at Lambert Park, Armidale knocked off Tamworth by six wickets in a high scoring match in division one.
Tamworth batted first and made a solid 3-186 with Terry Murphy and Tom Kellett top scoring with 36 apiece.
Andrew Hunt (0-9) and Bruce Coppock (0-12) were the pick of the bowlers for Armidale.
Armidale got off to a flyer in reply with opener Russ Wilde (37 not out) pounding the Tamworth bowlers.
He was well supported by Ian Petherick (35 not out) as Armidale to cruised to victory.
The mixed Armidale/UNE side in division two also started the week ideally with a seven wicket victory over Mid North Coast Dolphins at Moran Oval on Monday.
Phil Allen and the aptly named Dave Warner were joint top scorers for the Armidale side with 36 each.
Tony Buchanan led the way with the ball with a two wicket haul.
All division one matches were called off yesterday due to rain.
With a rest day scheduled today, all matches originally meant to be played yesterday were moved to today.
In division one today, Armidale will face a stern test in Sydney 1 at Harris Park, Central Coast will play Mid North Coast at Lambert Park, Lismore will face Newcastle at the Armidale Sportsground and Tamworth and Quirindi face off at Rologas.
Division two matches continued yesterday, but had to be moved to synthetic.
The Armidale/UNE side faced Sydney 2 before having a bye today.
