The accused Lin family murderer, Lian Bin "Robert" Xie, has failed in his bid to be released on bail ahead of his third trial next year.

Justice Elizabeth Fullerton made the decision in the NSW Supreme Court on Monday, as Mr Xie and his wife looked on.
Justice Fullerton's reasons for denying Mr Xie bail cannot be reported for legal reasons.
Mr Xie is accused of creeping into the home of his brother-in-law, Min "Norman" Lin, in the early hours of September 18, 2009, and murdering him, his wife, two young boys and their aunt.
The five bodies were found the next day. Mr Xie was arrested in May 2011 following an extensive police investigation.
The 50-year-old, who is married to Min Lin's sister, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Mr Xie's first trial was aborted due to the emergence of new evidence, and the second because of health issues experienced by Justice Peter Johnson.
His third trial is due to commence on February 2.
