Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a Sydney grandfather who was found with a number of injuries in his western Sydney home.

Dante De Mitri, 76, was found dead inside his North Parramatta terrace about 1.30pm on Father's Day.
Police said injuries on Mr De Mitri's body suggested he had been assaulted in the lead up to his death.
"He's probably been assaulted," a police officer close to the case said.
"He was found inside a locked house and there is blood," he said.
Detectives said Mr De Mitri's death appeared suspicious but they had to wait autopsy results to determine his exact cause of death.
The grandfather did not die as a result of being stabbed or shot, police said.
Police found the 76-year-old's body in his Victoria Road home after receiving a concerned call from a relative who had not heard from him in more than a week.
It is not known how many days he had been dead before he was found.
