Highly Strung is a ukulele group that meets weekly at The Old Teachers’ College.
There are currently 30 uke players aged between 24 and 78, taught by Cathy Welsford and Angie Smith. The group has been going for about two-and-a-half years.
At the Newkulele Festival in Newcastle, the Devil’s Pinch Certified Wellness Ambassadors and The Highly Strung Free Radicals will perform a full banquet of ukulele instrumentals.
But before they head to Newcastle in late October, you can see The Devil’s Pinch CWA and the Highly Strung Free Radicals perform locally at the Can Assist event in the Memorial Hall in Uralla on Saturday, at the Uralla Arts annual meeting on Sunday, September 20 and at the Day on the Gravel on October 19.
