The New England Mutual Armidale Junior and Open Tennis Tournament will hit off on September 29.
Tournament secretary Teshe Dennehy said the competition was made possible by the support of local businesses and indicated a growing interest in the sport in Armidale.
Australian Ranking Points are on offer as it is a “white points tournament” for the 12, 14, 16,18 and under age groups, which will attract talented players from throughout the state.
$4000 prize money is up to be won in the events while the 10’s, 12’s, 14’s and 16’s and 18's will receive trophies and gift vouchers.
There will also be a section for older players with the over 35's doubles handicap.
Entries will close on September 15 for points events and September 21 for non-point events.
