Cleanaway trucks were taken off the road nationally on Wednesday for a safety check after a fatal accident in South Australi.
The company has the contract to collect rubbish in Armidale.
An Armidale Dumaresq Council spokeswoman said waste collection services for Armidale recommenced at 8am on Thursday after their collection vehicles passed safety inspections.
Collection of waste for Armidale will be prioritised as follows:
1.Yesterdays collection,
2.Todays collection,
3.CBD (commercial) after 5:30pm,
Some rural residents may not have their waste collected until later this evening, possibly early tomorrow morning.
Residents and businesses are advised to leave their bins out and Cleanaway will methodically work through the backlog of bins until all have been emptied.
If your bin is not collected call Council’s customer service centre on 6770 3600. Your address will be recorded and Cleanaway will collect your bin after the completion of the waste collection backlog.
