A Southern Right Whale died off Peel Island after it was hit by a Straddie Ferry water taxi east of Brisbane on Friday.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, which occurred on the water taxi heading to Dunwich on Friday.
The whale's body was found in waters off Peel Island on Saturday morning.
It was one of two whales believed to have been hit by the boat. The other whale is believed to be still alive.
Officers from Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation Land Management and the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services Quandamooka Ranger in Charge were at the scene.
They advised on its removal to an appropriate location.
