Board members will be working behind the bar voluntarily and have asked any club members looking to help to do the same.
Treasurer Ania Tomaszewska said rumours that all of the club’s employees had been laid off were not true but that their hours had been limited.
“If it’s a night that there are 20 punters there we don’t want four staff working the bar,” she said.
The board will also have to examine whether Burgers By This Guy will be financially viable to run.
"Really it’s RSA sensible [to serve food] but if we can’t afford to man the food stall, we’re not going to go broke because we want everyone to have delicious food,” she said.
Ms Tomaszewska said while the number of patrons had been good the club’s expenses had been ballooning.
While she did not want to go into details, Ms Tomaszewska said the club had had a number of issues over the last six months which resulted in the organisation “bleeding” money.
I’m not really interested in the past, I’m just interested in finding solutions for the club
- Josh Osbourne, board member
But she said that bleeding had stopped.
Fellow board member Josh Osbourne is helping the run the club.
He said it was humbling how many people had come forth with messages of support for the club.
Mr Osbourne said while volunteering his time might not be ideal it was worth it.
“It is an interesting position that I find myself in but it’s one for the club,” he said.
“I’m not really interested in the past, I’m just interested in finding solutions for the club.”
In a statement the board said it was confident that extending it’s license to include under 18s would help them recover.
Members of the club will be called to an extraordinary meeting so that the board can explain the situation to them.
