Cathy and Anna Lisle got a taste of small screen fame as competitors in reality cooking show My Kitchen Rules, but their latest endeavour is a bit closer to home.
The family’s property Netherton will be the base for The Walcha Kitchen, where the duo will offer a series of weekend cooking courses.
Sydney-based Anna, who works as a food writer for the Best Restaurant website, said the school would be the perfect excuse for her to make weekend trips back to New England.
“I’m so excited about it,” she said.
“Since we started My Kitchen Rules, mum and I realised how much we loved cooking together.”
The 26-year-old food lover said she hoped the country location wouldn’t deter would-be students.
“It will be a challenge,” she said.
“The feedback we’ve had on Facebook has been amazing.”
“We put it up on Friday and there are already three classes completely booked.”
The classes will include Asian curries, three-course dinner parties, pastry making and cooking game meats.
In addition to the Walcha classes, the duo also hopes to offer some private classes in Sydney.
Anna also hinted at the possibility of future cookbook plans.
“We’ve got an exciting, bright future ahead,” she said.
The Lisles will also be selling their own gourmet product range, including fig jam, tomato relish, apple and raisin chutney, muesli and baked goods.
Ingredients will be sourced from the Netherton garden as well as other local producers.
The first class will take place on August 8.
