POLICE are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a bottle shop in Armidale on Saturday night.

About 8:50pm a man wearing a balaclava entered the store on Queen Elizabeth Drive and threatened the shop assistant with a rifle.
He was handed cash from the register before running out of the store in a westerly direction.
The shop assistant was not injured and no shots were fired during the robbery.
Police were called to the bottle shop and established a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives from New England Local Area Command are continuing investigations into the robbery and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and contact police.
They are looking for a man who has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, 25-30 years old, and 180 to 185cm tall with a small/medium build.
