NATIONAL Broadband Network service provider Harbour ISP has announced that it will financially support Armidale's aspiring young athletes.
Harbour ISP made the announcement during the launch of their NBN internet services at Armidale Bowling Club.
The athlete support packages are designed to assist young sporting stars in getting to state or national competitions by covering travel and accomodation costs.
The sponsorship deal further strengthens Harbour ISP's presence in the local community as it already has ties with the Armidale Sports Council.
Armidale Sports Council's Steve McMillan said he warmly welcomed the support from Harbour ISP.
"This will give an opportunity to emerging athletes to attend training or competitions that they may not otherwise have been able to attend because of the high costs of travel and accomodation," he said.
Director of Harbour ISP Charles Tym said the provider was delighted to be able to assist local athletes in their sporting endeavours.
"We are pleased to offer this support young athletes from the Armidale area and hope that it will enable them to achieve their sporting goals in the future.”
