Terry Cooke turned to crowdfunding website Pozible to generate the funds needed for a coffee table book featuring photographs of the New England high country.
The photographer said he was pleased with the response to the campaign, which has so far seen him gather $6310 online as well as about $1000 in cheques.
Contributors to the campaign have redeemed prizes including discounts on copies of the book, large photographic prints and photographic tuition with Cooke.
Cooke came up with the idea of the book as a retirement project, based on his past books of landscape photography.
He said he had also been in talks with the Armidale Dumaresq Civic Precinct committee about distributing the new book.
It will be about 88 pages and contain about 100 of Cooke’s photographs featuring local landscapes. It is expected to have a retail price of about $60.
The campaign will stay open at pozible.com/project/179109 until May 4.
