And at just over 3.6 kilograms Mr Brewer's baby is worth $21 at current market value.
He grew the humungous vegetable completely by accident when he mistook a cabbage seed for a turnip seed.
But now the turnip has outgrown the cabbages it was planted alongside. Mr Brewer is 78 years of age and has been gardening since he was a small child.
He loves to maintain his vegetable garden while his wife tends her flowers.
Mr Brewer's garden includes beans, cucumbers, potatoes and corn.
The turnip will become a winter soup.
