Principal Julie Crompton said the stand and accompanying raffle had received a lot of support from a steady stream of voters through the morning and lunchtime.
"Especially when it was very cold this morning, we had a lot of people attracted by the smell of onions and sausage cooking," she said. "For the volunteers who have come to run it today, it's been quite good."
Another sausage sizzle will be held at the school for the federal poll on September 14.
Meanwhile, former Armidale mayor Peter Ducat has been spotted handing out how to vote cards for Adam Marshall at the school.
