A taxi driver had a knife held to his throat before he was robbed by a passenger in Sydney's south-west overnight.

Police are hunting for the thief who escaped with the 37-year-old cabbie's cash in Casula.
Police said the taxi driver picked up the male passenger on Bigge Street in Liverpool about 9.45pm, and was asked to drive about five kilometres to Myall Road in Casula.
When the driver pulled into Myall Road, the thief pulled out a knife and threatened the driver before escaping with cash and property. The driver was not injured.
The taxi driver said the offender was of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean appearance, and police have appealed for anyone with information about the armed robbery to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
