TWO of Australia’s current World Cup futsal squad members will be in Armidale tomorrow to launch Viking Futsal’s summer competitions.
The indoor variation of football is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, and Australian representatives Joanne Burgess and Jodi Hammond will be in town to promote the game and and appear at the Armidale District Football Association grand finals at Doody Park tomorrow.
They will participate in an exhibition match at the Den from 10am before heading to YCW where six grand finals will be played between noon and 6pm.
The first division women’s final at 4pm will feature East Armidale and Walcha, while at 6pm in the open mens division one Guyra will do battle with UNE.
Futsal registration will be held at the Den from 9am tomorrow, Sunday at UNE from 11.30am until 1.30pm and from 9.30am next Saturday at Centro.
