TWENTY two students from primary and central schools throughout the North competed for the North West Schools Sports Association Junior Golf Classic at the Armidale Golf Club on Monday.
This is the 11th year the event has been conducted.
Unfortunately numbers were down this year but all players enjoyed the day.
Students competed in an 18-hole strokeplay or a nine-hole non-handicap event.
The overall winner was Andrew Brennan from Walcha Central School with a gross score of 94.
Winner of the nine-hole boys event was Toby Cooper of Armidale City Public School with a score of 58 off the stick, while Amber Jordan won the girls nine-hole event with a score of 75.
The organisers would like to extend their thanks to Kevin Marshall, Peter Moy and the Armidale Golf Club for their support and for hosting this event.
A special thanks also to Armidale Sports Power who once again showed their support of junior sport in Armidale with sponsorship.
