The community of Walcha is gathering momentum for their upcoming local race meeting being held on February 10 and the family fun day on February 11.
The award winning two-day combination of the local race meeting with the members’ marquee and family fun day has proven to be extremely popular over the past few years, and expectations are that it will be even more so for the Walcha Cup.
Friday’s activities include eight races, lucky gate prizes and fashions in the field. There are prizes valued over $3000, fine food and bar at the members’ marquee plus the racecourse bar, BBQ canteen all made more enjoyable by the free bus transport available from Walcha to the racecourse and back!
For Saturday’s races and family fun day entry is free for all children and the day includes five races. There is also fashions in the field for children with some excellent prizes on offer, the annual Lions footrace, face-painting, sand art, mechanical bull, jumping castle and lolly bags.
TAB, SKY and TOTE facilities as well as local and interstate bookmakers will be available throughout both Friday and Saturday.
