Following the outstanding success of The Edinburgh Military Tattoo - A Salute to Australia, which more than 150,000 people attended in 2005, the famous tattoo returns to the Sydney Football Stadium in February to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
With more than 1500 performers from around the world, including massed pipes and drums, highland dancers and the stirring lone piper, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo is set to be the biggest tattoo ever staged.
The new show will be titled ‘The Edinburgh Military Tattoo - Celebrating 60 Years of Valour, Mateship and Glory’.
It will feature international bands from the UK, USA, Switzerland, China, Norway, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago and New Zealand and Australian bands from each of the Defence Forces and from every state.
Of course, you can not have an Edinburgh Military Tattoo without Edinburgh Castle.
The remarkable $1 million replica of the castle facade, built for ‘A Salute to Australia’, will once again feature as a stunning, atmospheric backdrop to the event.
The return visit is produced by the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in association with the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust and supported by Events NSW.
The Armidale Express is offering three lucky readers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win two tickets to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and one night’s accommodation on February 7, including breakfast for two people in a 4.5 star CBD hotel.
