The eisteddfod, held last week, drew dancers from Armidale, Uralla, Guyra, Walcha, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Glen Innes, Inverell, Tamworth, Gunnedah, Bundarra, Bendemeer, Cessnock and Churchill in Queensland.
The Pamela Poole Memorial Shield went to Armidale’s Paige Hadfield while Georgia Mackson won the Junior Classical Championship and Junior Song and Dance Championship and Isaac Clark won the Junior Jazz Championship.
The eisteddfod was adjudicated by Brisbane’s Wendy Laraghy, who has taught extensively and danced with companies including the Queensland Ballet Company, Stadiche Buhnen Dortmund Basel Ballet, Switzerland and Ballet Florida.
New England Dance Eisteddfod president Jan Shepherd said all of the dancers involved had a great time and that the committee tried to creat a friendly atmosphere at the event.
“I would like to commend all of our dancers for their sportsmanship, friendly spirit and for sharing the joy of dancing with us all,” Ms Shepherd said.
