Man suffers penetrating chest injury at Hillgrove mine

A MAN is recovering after being injured at the Hillgrove mine on Wednesday morning.

At about 11.30 the 59-year-old man suffered a penetrating chest injury.

The Tamworth-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called in to fly him to Newcastle.

He was discharged yesterday morning.
