POLICE are searching for two men who robbed a person at knifepoint outside Armidale Dumaresq Council library around noon yesterday.
The victim, a local male aged in his late teens, was uninjured in the incident but appeared to be suffering from shock moments after officers arrived at the scene.
It is believed the victim may have known his attackers.
A white cloth was used to cover the weapon as the two men surprised their victim just before he entered the library.
They then made a quick escape via Faulkner Street in a vehicle, believed to be a white van.
New England Local Area Command Detective-Sergeant, Matthew Crotty, said that an item was stolen during the incident and a number of witnesses had been interviewed.
Though police would not disclose exactly what was taken, The Express understands it was an iPhone.
While investigations are still ongoing, Det-Sgt Crotty revealed that two males had been questioned in relation to yesterday’s attack.
The men were taken to Armidale Police Station after being approached by officers near the public swimming pool about the alleged attack.
“No one has been arrested or charged at this stage, they were just brought back to the station to assist us with our investigation,” Sgt Crotty said.
Anyone with additional information which could help police in their investigations is urged to call the local station on 6771-0699.
