SOME of New England’s most creative ‘foodies’ will come together on Friday week in a celebration of local cuisine at the Armidale Business Awards at the Racecourse.
In a move away from the traditional sit down dinner, this year’s catering will be provided by local chefs and food producers showcasing the fabulous quality available throughout the New England.
Ebor Beef and Milly Hill Lamb will be there and Scott Fittler from The Meating Place will manage the barbecue.
Vegetarians will be well catered for with Bottega Deli, The Green Papaya and Bistro on Cinders all working wonders with seasonal local produce.
The boys from the new Goldfish Bowl Bakery will be cooking up a storm from their new Jessie St premises and Anthony Chick will look after coffee and tea.
“We’re trying to extend this year’s theme of creativity and innovation to the food as well,” said Elizabeth Egan, executive officer for the Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re thrilled to have the foodies from around town working together to provide something really fresh and fun for the evening’s festivities.”
* Tickets for the Armidale & District Chamber of Commerce Business Awards presentation evening, MC’d by the ABC’s James O’Loghlin, may be purchased from the Armidale Express office at 115 Faulkner St.
