Boxing Day holiday set for December 28

EXECUTIVE Director of NSW Industrial Relations, Don Jones, has confirmed that Monday, December 28, has been gazetted as the 2009 Boxing Day public holiday.

Mr Jones said that while Boxing Day itself falls on a Saturday this year, the public holiday for Boxing Day is the following Monday.

“Employers need to ensure they pay the correct penalty rates and other entitlements, as set out in their appropriate awards or agreements, for any employees who are required to work on this public holiday,” he said.
